The head of the famous acting dynasty, Sir Michael Redgrave headlined many important productions including the cult horror anthology “Dead of Night”. The influential film also stars Basil Radford & Naunton Wayne, the unique cinematic double-act who first appeared in Hitchcock‘s “The Lady Vanishes” with Margaret Lockwood and Michael Redgrave as the leading man in his first major film role.

Renowned for his theatre work, Sir Redgrave also had a prolific film career including “The Stars look Down” with Margaret Lockwood & Cecil Parker; “The Way to the Stars” with Stanley Holloway & Jean Simmons; “The Captive Heart” with Mervyn Johns, Rachel Thomas, & Gordon Jackson; “The Years Between” with Dulcie Gray & Katie Johnson; “The Man Within” with Danny Green & Richard Attenborough; “Fame Is the Spur” with Honor Blackman; and “Mourning Becomes Electra” for which Redgrave was Oscar-nominated.

“The Importance of Being Earnest” was to follow with Joan Greenwood & Margaret Rutherford; “The Green Scarf” with Richard O’Sullivan; “The Sea Shall Not Have Them” with Dirk Bogarde, Anthony Steel, & Joan Sims; then the classic British war film “The Dam Busters” with Richard Todd & John Fraser.
