Terence Morgan Pop Art
Stylish pop art print of Terence Morgan.

Morgan specialised in playing the dashing villain – presumably because his good looks let him get away with nasty characters – but the occasional sympathetic and romantic lead features in his film credits, as well as the starring role in the 1961 TV show “Sir Francis Drake”.

Morgan trained at RADA then joined the Old Vic. His first film role was as Laertes in the 1948 production of “Hamlet” with Laurence Olivier, Jean Simmons, John Laurie, & Stanley Holloway; the anthology “Encore” followed in 1951 with Glynis Johns; after which Morgan landed a main role in “Mandy” with Jack Hawkins, the Ealing film about a family struggling to come to terms with their daughter’s deafness, which opened at the Gaumont & Marble Arch Pavilion cinemas in London on the 31st of July 1952.

Other credits include “Turn the Key Softly” with Joan Collins; “Forbidden Cargo” with Elizabeth Sellars & Joyce Grenfell; “Dance Little Lady” with Richard O’Sullivan; “Svengali”; “The Scamp” with Richard Attenborough; “Tread Softly Stranger” with Diana Dors & George Baker; “Women in Love” with Sean Connery & John Fraser; “Piccadilly Third Stop” with Yoko Tani & Dennis Price; & “The Shakedown” with Eddie Byrne & Harry H. Corbett.

A successful cinematic pairing, Terence Morgan & Peggy Cummins starred together in the films “Street Corner”, “Always a Bride”, and “The March Hare”.

After “Sir Francis Drake”, Morgan appeared in the Hammer horror film “The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb”; an episode of “The Persuaders” with Roger Moore & Tony Curtis; “Comedy Playhouse” with Fenella Fielding; and “Hide & Seek” with Liz Fraser.

An official collaboration with Studiocanal, this print is part of the Leading Men pop art collection, featuring Art & Hue’s signature halftone style (halftone is an age-old technique that uses dots to make up the printed image, similar to newspapers or comic books).
