Born in Limerick, Richard Harris co-starred in the war film “The Long & The Short & The Tall” alongside Richard Todd, Laurence Harvey, & David McCallum.

Harris is renowned amongst younger audiences for the role of Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films, which was portrayed by Michael Gambon in later films.
