“Woman in a Dressing Gown” premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival where the film won four awards including Best Actress for Yvonne Mitchell. The film went on to open in London at the Warner Cinema on the 3rd of October 1957.

“Woman in a Dressing Gown” was directed by J. Lee Thompson who also directed the Brit noir classic “Yield to the Night” with Diana Dors, plus “The Weak & the Wicked” with Glynis Johns & Rachel Roberts, war film “Ice Cold in Alex” with Sylvia Syms & Harry Andrews, & “Tiger Bay” with Meredith Edwards & Rachel Thomas.
