Smith’s credits include “Jassy” with Margaret Lockwood, Patricia Roc, Dennis Price, & John Laurie; “The Calendar” with John McCallum & Diana Dors; Ealing film “Saraband for Dead Lovers” with Joan Greenwood, John Gregson, Christopher Lee, & Anthony Steel; “To the Public Danger” with Patricia Hayes, & Barbara Murray; “The Perfect Woman” with Stanley Holloway, Dora Bryan, & Irene Handl; “Now Barabas” with Richard Burton; “Room to Let” with Jimmy Hanley; “The Mudlark” with Alec Guinness & ; “Don’t Say Die” with Kenneth Connor; and “Blackmailed” with Mai Zetterling & Dirk Bogarde, before she left for Hollywood and films including “Red Skies of Montana” with Richard Widmark & Jeffrey Hunter, and “The Big Tip Off” with Bruce Bennett.

A string of Hollywood films, co-starring alongside marquee names of the day, ended in 1953 after which Constance returned to British films (including “Impulse” with Sam Kydd, & “Tiger by the Tail” with Thora Hird) before moving to Italian cinema productions until 1959, after which the actress withdrew from filmmaking.

Born in Limerick, Constance Smith appeared as a singer in the classic Brit noir “Brighton Rock” with Richard Attenborough.
