Stanley Baxter
With a long-running radio & television career, Stanley was beloved for his impressions of famous people, particularly The Queen, most appropriate given he became comedy royalty himself.
Stanley Baxter’s television series and specials were keenly anticipated, filmed at Television Centre and at the LWT studios on London’s south bank.
As well as his own shows, such as the 1964 series “Baxter On…” with June Whitfield & Ronnie Barker, and “The Stanley Baxter Show” with guest performers Joan Sims and Una Stubbs, plus musical guests such as The Springfields, Stanley has acted in other productions, including “Geordie” with Alastair Sim, “The Fast Lady” with Julie Christie, Dick Emery, Frankie Howerd, Bernard Cribbins, & James Robertson Justice, and “The Wednesday Play” with Dennis Price & Yootha Joyce.
