Frequently cast as the villain in a career spanning eight decades, the prodigious and respected actor is perhaps most known by older audiences for his horror film appearances, particularly as Dracula.
“Scars of Dracula” was a popular and commercial success and, as one of his seven appearances as the vampire for Hammer, firmly established his connection to horror in the public’s mind.
Before her current incarnation as a stylish hotelier, Antipodean Anouska Hempel descended on Swinging London and promptly secured roles in films and television shows.
Anouska appeared as one of Blofeld’s angels of death in the Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”, a firm fan-favourite of the spy film series, along with her “Scars of Dracula” co-star Jenny Hanley plus Julie Ege.
OHMSS also starred Diana Rigg and Joanna Lumley who she appeared with again a year later in “The Breaking of Bumbo” before her role of Tania in “Scars of Dracula” alongside Christopher Lee.
With a part in a Carry On film also under her belt, Anouska turned her back on the entertainment industry to move into hospitality.
Now known as Lady Weinberg, Anouska established Blakes Hotel in 1978, one of the world’s first luxury boutique hotels, and continues to design hotels, restaurants, yachts, and residences to this day.
An official collaboration with Studiocanal, this group of prints is part of the new collection of graphic pop art by Art & Hue inspired by images from the photographic archives of classic Hammer Horror films, in Art & Hue’s signature halftone Pop Art style (halftone is an age-old technique that uses dots to make up the image, similar to newspapers or comic books).
