Toodle-oo, EU!

Toodle-oo, EU! Shipping to the EU is ending.

Dear European customers,
After many wonderful years of shipping Art & Hue prints across Europe, I have some difficult news to share.

Due to new EU regulations, Art & Hue will stop accepting orders for delivery to EU addresses after the 31st of July 2026 (11.59pm UK time).

If there’s a print you’ve had your eye on, this July will be your last opportunity to order it for delivery within the EU.

Additionally, from the 1st of July, all orders entering the EU will incur a fee of €3, payable prior to or upon delivery via your local delivery company, alongside any local VAT, customs, & carrier charges.

The nitty-gritty:
Due to complex & expensive EU administrative requirements, Art & Hue has already ceased shipping to Austria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Poland, Spain & Sweden. With additional EU rules due to take effect in August, final orders for shipping to all remaining EU countries must be placed by the 31st of July (11.59pm UK time).

Non-EU European countries (such as Norway and Switzerland) are not affected and remain open for delivery.

EU customers can still order after the 31st of July but only for delivery to non-EU addresses.

Why is Art & Hue taking this step?
New EU rules require non-EU shops to hire 27 separate representatives, pay registration fees to 27 individual national databases, and submit highly detailed reports across all 27 individual EU member states! For a small art studio, this introduces a mountain of mind-numbing administrative paperwork, alongside thousands of Euros in combined registration and compliance fees, every single year – just for the privilege of putting an art print into a cardboard envelope or tube.

As an independent artist, it is simply impossible to absorb these additional costs and hours of bureaucracy while keeping art print prices fair.

The irony that these new regulations are coming into force in this 70th anniversary year of the Eurovision Song Contest, established as a way of bringing all European countries together, is not lost.

(To be clear, this isn’t purely related to Brexit but rather new EU regulations. The strangest thing about the new rules is that they apply to all EU artists & shops as well, albeit without the additional cost of having to engage 27 individual representatives – so much for the single market).

What does this mean for you?
If you would like to place an order for delivery to an address in the EU, please do so before the 31st of July 2026 (11.59pm UK time). After this date, Art & Hue will no longer accept orders for delivery to EU addresses.

If there is an A4, A3, or A2 print you have been waiting to add to your collection, please place your order before this date so your prints can be printed, packaged, and shipped, before the new rules impact incoming deliveries.

Thank you so much to all my European customers for your incredible support over the years. It truly means the world to me and it’s wonderful to know that there are Art & Hue prints on the walls of homes across Europe.

If you have a friend or family member outside the EU who can accept delivery on your behalf, or if you order for delivery to a non-EU country, then naturally I would still be delighted to create art for you.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Get your prints while you can!

All the best,
Odysseas
Art & Hue

P.S. Of course, in the event that the EU rules change at any point so that Art & Hue can start shipping to member states again, I will update the site and email subscribers, but the rules look to be in place without exemptions for all non-EU (and EU) businesses, of all sizes – from large corporations to independent artists – for years to come.
