Ashmolean x Art & Hue T-shirts

Ashmolean x Art & Hue organic T-shirts collaboration

Somewhat of a departure for Art & Hue as, after 10 years of pop art being exclusively available as art prints on archival cotton paper, two artworks (so far) have made the jump to clothing.

Exclusively available from the Ashmolean Museum shop in Oxford, Art & Hue has collaborated with Britain’s, and possibly the world’s, first public museum on new organic t-shirts.

Earlier this year, Art & Hue collaborated with the museum on a new Ashmolean pop art range, available in 12 colours closely matched to The Treasured Collection of paints by Graphenstone inspired by the exhibits.

There have been several suggestions over the past 10 years of Art & Hue to apply pop art to apparel and, whilst the ethos has always been to specialise in fine art prints on museum-quality archival paper only, the team at the Ashmolean Museum were very persuasive.

Made by the Ashmolean using Art & Hue’s artwork from the pop art collaboration, their convincing belief that the artwork would work well on t-shirts helped to overcome doubts, & the results have been a revelation.

Available in sizes from XS to XXL, the organic t-shirts feature two designs from the Ashmolean pop art collection by Art & Hue, Ashmolean Museum in Raphael Grey and Ashmolean Exhibition in Kingfisher.

The t-shirts are currently on display and available to purchase at the Ashmolean Museum’s shop which has curated artistic products to tie in with the new “Money Talks: Art, Society & Power” exhibition, on now until the 5th of January 2025, which includes works by Andy Warhol.

If you’re visiting Oxford, you can pick up the t-shirts from the Ashmolean Museum’s shop in person, and you can also order them online here and here.
