Stylish pop art print of John Steed, Purdey & Gambit in The New Avengers, available in three sizes and 22 colour options.

Featuring “The New Avengers” text and the iconic Union Jack lion, this pop art print in a poster style brings together the three spies as a heartfelt homage to the show’s unique retro charm, reimagined in Art & Hue’s signature pop art style, reminiscent of the popular annuals and board games released at the time to tie in with the show’s popularity.

When “The Avengers” John Steed & Tara King blasted off into space in the final episode “Bizarre” in 1969, Mother promised they would be back but it would be a full seven years before Steed returned to British TV screens, this time in “The New Avengers” with new spy partners.

Joined by the stylish Purdey and dashing Mike Gambit, “The New Avengers” returned with a whole new look, tone, and even theme tune. Rather than re-use the title theme from “The Avengers”, composer & producer Laurie Johnson took one element of the original music for the opening bars and then went on to create a whole new sound for the Seventies spies.

During a time of questionable seventies taste and saucy films, Steed, Purdey & Gambit were a blast of stylish sophistication and wit which amassed fans smitten by their sheer cool whilst battling diabolical masterminds in “The New Avengers“.

Also available as part of a pair, a group of 4, and a group of 8 prints.

The show revived Patrick Macnee‘s character John Steed from The Avengers and introduced Joanna Lumley as Purdey (named after a British gunmaker) & Gareth Hunt as Gambit.
