Kate
In a similar way to Twiggy in 1966, her striking yet innocent look seemed at odds with the vision of traditional magazine beauty but her rock-and-roll uniqueness quickly captured the attention of designers and the public.
Initially associated with British fashion titles, it wasn’t long before Moss was brought into Vogue magazine and the fold of top supermodels and by 1993, she appeared in a car advert alongside Linda, Naomi, Christy, and Tatjana.
The 90s was an exciting time for British fashion and music, with DJs & Brit-pop bands conquering the charts and homegrown designers leading the way at design houses across the world.
Like her friend and fellow South Londoner Naomi, it’s a matter of national pride to see Kate’s international success – it’s like seeing a member of the family flying the flag for Britain and British fashion, as they did at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
With appearances as herself in “French & Saunders” and “Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie” with Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley & June Whitfield, Kate’s a homegrown icon with a sense of humour.
Kate is still very much modelling in many fashion & product campaigns.
