The Morris range includes stylish graphic prints of the Morris family homes, including this print of Water House in Walthamstow, the home of William Morris during his formative teenage years.
The building was later donated to Walthamstow in 1900 by the son of newspaper proprietor Edward Lloyd who purchased Water House in 1856 & renamed it Lloyd Park.
The building now houses The William Morris Gallery, an award-winning museum devoted to the life and works of Morris, with permanent collections relating to his life and work, as a designer and a social activist.
The Morris family’s designs have transcended their historical inspirations and context, continuing to find a place in modern interior design.
The Morris legacy lies in its influence on design, the advocacy for craftsmanship, and the efforts to create more ethically-produced goods within the constraints of the industrial age. Morris was pioneering in the advocacy for social and environmental concerns, and the integration of art into everyday life.
This print is part of the Morris pop art collection. The stylish prints, which use either halftone dots (as in this print) or the style of linecut engravings, come in three sizes & 20 colours to choose from so you can curate a personalised art collection that brings the enduring legacy of the Arts & Crafts movement into your home.
Also available as part of a group of three and six.
